Description:
I stumbled into this while working on the mathematical mechanics of making circles (something I've finally gotten the hang of... twas absurdly simple, really, but that's a whole 'nother story )

Cool, reminds me of a speaker woofer
Report
A very strange speaker woofer... I wonder what they'd sound like if the membranes were elliptical...
Report
I don't think the shape of the speaker changes the sound ... then again, maybe it does, in which case it will sound slightly warped, like Aphex Twin music
Report
Well, it would probably alter the sound, given that it wouldn't vibrate in the same way... in fact it would probably inhibit the vibration quite a bit. Sounds like a good idea for a high school science project.
Report
Alright, let's blow up some speakers
Report
Yes! I'll get the duct tape!
Report
I've seen speakers with elliptical 'cones' - I think they're fairly common in low-end car audio. They sound the same, though I'm guessing the design process may be a bit different.
Report
Elliptical cones, yes, but the audio is decidedly inferior and they have a tendency to get fuzzy sounding after a while.
Report
Ah, righty.
Report
Okay, that's just cool.
Report
Thankees!
Report
-stares- That is pretty cool. I like the shadow-gradient stuff in the center of the circles
Report
You're welcome
Report
That's an interesting effect.
Report
Thank you!

My eyes!!

No, seriously. I like this one the best of the last three. :)

Another victim claimed by the powers of equation art!!!

Thank you.
Report
wait wait... I'm not sure I like "victim" in that sentence!! lolol
Report
Oh - I really like the way the colour of the "shadows" reverses on either side of the elipse. Great choice of colours, too... very eyecatching!

Thankees!
Report
My eyes are dizzy!
Report
That's what this type of art seems to do best.
Report
I easily saw that on my first glance!!
