Description:
The same character as my first work, only I'm testing color combinations. I'm not a real fan of this one. I like purple and I don't use it often in my artwork, but it's hard to find a color that will look good with it and work on armor. Also, her skin is too orange. I'm gonna end up using a different color palette on the next version.

Suggestions and ideas on colors are welcome and most appreciated.

A lighter brown works well with a deep, rich purple. And a light purple looks pretty with a dark brown. Sometimes if you have a really light green and light purple, they'll go together.

Kind of like what I tried. This ended up being a total disaster. ._. Now I know why I hate working with pink/magenta/rose colors.

Maybe I could use two shades of purple, with a darker brown and hints of green?

That might work. Try to use either a lighter or darker purple for the shading or the shine. Or you might want to just back as far away from purple and do another color thats "like" purple, but with just a little hint of a different color for shading/shine. xD

<~~ Says the genius who doesn't experiment with her colors very much. And has mostly a flat coloring palette (sp?).

Hmn. Thanks for the ideas. I'll work on the seperate layers again when I don't have such a headache.
