barra's lodge

Description:
Barra's Lodge, Inhambane, Mozambique: long wood walks provide a safe way between lhe tourists cabins and the main structure of the lodge.
Originally, palaphites are not found in this part of the country, but economic aid from Holland made it possible for a Neederkands businessman to built them in a procted area of mangal. Mozambique or it's people do not profit from this kind of structure, because the tourists money doesn't travell outside Barra's or any other lodge. The area is underdevelloped and has little to offer to tourists outside the foreign compounds built there by foreign busynessmen. Holland should Know better than destroy mangal world protected areas by giving away money for this kind of ventures. Plus, the area is full of mosquitoes and tourists are due to close themselves in their air conditioned rooms by four o'clock in the afternoon. The road to Inhambane is under the water twice a day and it takes almost one hour to travell about five miles to the main road between Tofo and Inhambane.
