Seto/Anzu

A story I'm writing with my good friend in England.
She was staring off into space, but even that was enough to catch his attention. His normally cold and intense eyes were focused on every little detail of her petite body. He felt his heart beat faster and faster as he continued to stare.

But his attention on her snapped as his phone rang. He grunted to himself as he pulled his phone from his pocket. Not really caring if he picked up or not. He was getting a new secretary at Kaiba Corp, and he didn't even want to think about anything other than that.

He glanced at the number calling and after he decided it was important enough, he answered, with one last look at her. His new secretary.

"Kaiba."

He flinched at the loud voice on the other end, but it didn't go unnoticed. She was looking at him. Watching intensely as he talked business on the phone. Kaiba was unaware of the watchful eyes on his back as he nodded and hung up with the person on the phone. As he placed the phone back into his pocket, his eyes locked with hers for a few seconds, but she turned away, all too quickly. He was amused. He had that much of an affect on her? Could he do more?

Wait a minute. What was he thinking? That's going too far. All he really needed was to look at her and those very thoughts trickled back down.

He had to do something to get them off his mind. He roughly searched his own pocket and came across an invitation. It was the invitations he was handing out to the most important people in Kaiba Corporation. He stared at it for a while. She wasn't important, or famous at all. But he had a strong urge to invite her.

He casually approached her from behind and watched as she was filling out the last few papers. He grabbed them and took them from her. She turned around and her eyes locked with his intense ones. He broken their contact to look over the papers carefully, not really caring that they were unfinished. She watched his icy blue eyes as they read all the little details and noticed they would stop once and a while as they fell her on her signature at the bottom of every page. She wondered briefly what he could be thinking about, but shook it off when he laid the papers down on the counter.

"Masaki. I want you to j---" He stopped and looked closely at her eyes. She had been crying. But why? Did she not want to work for Kaiba Corp? Was it something he did? And if his employees did anything to her, he'd have them fired and out of there before they could ask for a raise.

His breath hitched as he watched her tear stained eyes, well up with more tears. His once cold and intense eyes, soon turned warm and desperate. He wanted to help her but he didn't know how, or why he was helping, because he didn't even know what was wrong with her. His own eyes were beginning to well up as she let slip a few more tears.

"Why are you crying? Who made you---" He couldn't finished his sentence as this girl he once despised, because she followed his rival around and cheered him on, was now clinging desperately to him, crying hard.

"He's marrying Rebecca!" She rammed her tiny fist into his hard torso. "Even after he said I was the only one for him, he said I shouldn't wait for him.  Yugi LIED to me!"

Every one in the room looked over in their direction, but when Kaiba took notice of them, he picked up the emotional girl and carried her into his office. Her arms remained clung to him as she continued to sob. His legs were about to collapse under him, so he sat down on the nearest couch in his office. He ran his fingers through her hair, as he thought to himself.

"The party can wait. She's not in any state to receive any invitations." He quietly said to  himself. He softly stroked her hair as he was finally convinced she had fallen asleep.
